DeRomo’s Gourmet Market & Restaurant celebrates National Pasta Day


DeRomo’s Gourmet Market & Restaurant is saluting National Pasta Day by reintroducing a number of chef-requested and customer-favorite pastas as well as introducing dishes that will be available for a limited time only, right on the cusp of peak season in SWFL, announced Founder & CEO Francis J. Cuomo.

Pasta Chefs Rosemarie and Rainer Drygala, longtime Floridians and key members of the culinary team at DeRomo’s, are offering black pepper pappardelle and sweet potato gnocchi as pasta specials in the Prepared Foods section of the Market. These specialty items are made in the DeRomo’s onsite Pastaria and in addition to being available at DeRomo’s, they are shipped to the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando where they are featured at “chef’s table wine dinners” and on the new a la carte menu.

DeRomo’s is also offering traditional ravioli packages at a discounted price during the month of October. The 12-piece packages includes large square ricotta cheese, round spinach and cheese, and large square beef and pork ravioli; they are available in the Gourmet Market. Additionally, a lobster ravioli special is available exclusively in DeRomo’s Restaurant.

Francis and his team are also featuring their “Spooky Halloween Pasta Mix,” a fall special the Market has offered in the Prepared Foods section since opening in 2014. This vibrant, ready-to-eat pasta salad consists of spiral-style rotelle pasta made with natural black squid ink combined with a seasonal orange pasta flavored with tomato sauce. Another popular holiday pasta, this one available in the restaurant, is the delicious Black Squid Ink Fettucine paired with a medley of fresh seafood.

We put a tremendous amount of thought and effort into our pasta making, from the standards like fettucine and rigatoni, to our theme pastas…everything we make has to look as good as it tastes – and it all tastes delicious. We look forward to October when we can celebrate classic Italian pasta and put our spin on holiday products.
